I’ve been toying with the idea of building a guard army, in a pseudo-Russian winter theme. Here are the first few test models I built, as a “proof of concept”.

I haven’t finished painting them, mainly just looking at color schemes and color placement right now.

Because the Sheriff’s Office and the Gun Store go hand in hand.

Plenty of room for outlaws.Again, I left the Gun Shop pretty open, so models can move through the building with ease during games.

“Mia’s Mercantile” is the other general store in town, named after my daughter. :)

This shop has a small shelf inside with goods, again mostly open for gaming purposes.

“The Rattlesnake Saloon”

This is a relatively small drinking hole. At some point I would like to build a large saloon, with cowboys gambling, piano player, big ‘ol bar, etc. Until then, this will be the place for the town drunk to get in trouble. :)

Finishing Things

Like many miniature enthusiasts, I sometimes suffer from “Shiny model syndrome”. There’s always a new army, figure, book, etc. And so many seem like great new projects! In light of my massive collection of “stuff” in my storage closet, I wanted to make a dent in the collection, and FINISH something for once!

Finishing feels good. It’s kind of easy to do, if you do a little bit at a time. And then you get to look back and feel a real sense of accomplishment. I’ve been meaning to finish up my Wild West terrain for a LONG time. I started this project in a fit of cowboy obsession almost two years ago. I bought a lot of materials and buildings, and even got a fair amount done. But then it sat. And sat.

I moved out to California last year, and found a new gaming group out here. They all expressed some interest in playing “Legends of the Old West”, which was a perfect excuse to break the project out and FINISH it. :)

The RED DRAGON. Is it a Chinese Laundry? A House of Ill-Repute? An Opium Smuggling Den? A Restaurant? Lots of game possibilities…

I’ve tried to make the insides of these buildings simple, for ease of gameplay. I ran out of textured plastic card for the interior wood floors. At some point I will most likely visit the train store to spruce them up a bit.

I’ve gone and retooled the front page. My brother and I haven’t had a chance to post pics in awhile (real life gets in the way of fake life!), but I intend to start posting regularly again.

With the release of Warhammer 8th edition, I’m currently working on an Empire Army, as well as some historical figures. Here are some of my Darkest Africa figures:

I have some pictures to show. I’ve been working on a variety of modeling projects, none of which seem to be related to each other. But this one I am especially proud of, my Gorgon.

WIP shots. He is almost done with sculpting. I am planning on making some more fur and need to touch up a few spots that didnt blend well but you get the idea from these photos.

With any luck I can actually get this painted reasonably fast.

The Bad Moons Ultimate Waaagh has been sold!

Well that was a wild ride! The Bad Moons army was posted on Ebay and had over 37,400 views of the auction, with well over 110 watchers. And then it didn’t sell…. I re-listed the army and then received several offers. I’m pleased to announce that the army has been sold to a fine gentleman in Ohio- congratulations and great gaming!

With that finished, I’m going to be moving onto some other hobby projects that have been nagging at me- expect some pictures over the holidays! Among some of the new upcoming minis are Tyranids (the new codex looks too interesting to pass up!) as well as my Inquisitorial and Adeptus Mechanicus figures!
