Well that was a wild ride! The Bad Moons army was posted on Ebay and had over 37,400 views of the auction, with well over 110 watchers. And then it didn’t sell…. I re-listed the army and then received several offers. I’m pleased to announce that the army has been sold to a fine gentleman in Ohio- congratulations and great gaming!

With that finished, I’m going to be moving onto some other hobby projects that have been nagging at me- expect some pictures over the holidays! Among some of the new upcoming minis are Tyranids (the new codex looks too interesting to pass up!) as well as my Inquisitorial and Adeptus Mechanicus figures!

Here’s the thing: I’m obssessed with MegaNobs. I absolutely love fielding them in Ork Armies. They’re crazy tough, and they provide a lot of modeling opportunities to make them all unique. If you field the Mad Dok Grotsnik you can give all of your MegaNobs invulnerable saves, making them a real menace and giving them lasting power. Finally, they can all take kombi-skorchas, which are practically manditory. Even with one shot, they can soften up tough hand to hand enemies before a fight. Additionally, meganobs can sometimes break and flee. The skorchas provide a way to keep enemy units more than 6″ away from you, allowing the meganobs to regroup the next turn. Very, very useful.

Here are two more of the trukk for my Bad Moons Army. As much as I like the new GW Trukk Kit, conceptually, I looked at the kit more as a starting point. I wanted to have every vehicle in my army converted, so they were similar, but all unique. This first trukk has treads from a battlewagon kit, as well as a front ram from that kit. Other parts include a Leman Russ exhaust, plasticcard, Imperial Guard dozer blades as trukk sidewalls, and Stompa bits.

The second trukk is a real kitbash. The main drivers cab is the front section from a Land Raider kit. The driver sits in the space normally reserved for assault cannons. I built the sides from plastic card. The front reinforced ram is a bit from the Stompa kit. (Honestly, it’s worth buying a Stompa just for all of the bits you can use from it. Even if you never field a stompa) The trukk bed floor is the interior floor from a Land Raider kit, as well.

Shoota Boys Mob- I’m actually a big fan of Shoota Boys. Most people go for the traditional Slugga & Choppa, which has its place too. Shoota Boys still get 2 attacks, however, which is pretty solid. Plus they can soften up a target, then assault it with 3 attacks on the charge. with a threat range of 24″ (6″ move +18″ range) they can pour a ton of fire out. Yes, it doesn’t hit great, when compared to Marines, but consider that 30 shoota boys will fire 60 shots, and 20 will hit on average. Not bad at all, especially since it’s strength 4.
